BBC Radio 2 Top 50 Guitar Riffs

As part of the BBC’s Guitar Season of programmes, Radio 2 asked listeners to vote for what they consider to be the Greatest Guitar Riff Ever?

A panel of guitar music experts, made up of Radio 2 presenters, music critics and record producers were selected to pick the 100 guitar riffs, they are: Janice Long – Radio 2 Presenter, Bob Harris – Radio 2 Presenter, Richard Allison – Radio 2 Presenter, Gideon Coe – 6 Music Presenter, Steve Levine – Music Producer, Paul Sexton – Music journalist and broadcaster, Sunday Times, Radio 2, Sian Llewellyn – Editor, Classic Rock Magazine.

We posted the original selection and received a great deal of comments on our Blog & Facebook page requesting riffs that weren’t included.

Well you can’t please everyone so even if your all time favourite Guitar Riff wasn’t included in the short list. Here is the top 50 ranked by listeners.
