Quite a rarity, and one that has certainly seen a life! Plugged in, this bass sounds wonderful though. If you're after a clean example, then this one won't be for you, but if you're after a functional workhorse that goes way back, and sounds the real deal, then read on:

This is a Gibson Les Paul Triumph Bass from circa 1976, and sounds enormous when plugged in. The toggle switch has been replaced, as well as two of the machine heads having been replaced for a Gotoh and Schaller machine head - Remember, this is a functional work horse example! - but it is fully functional and the electronics are all working.

Viewers will quickly spot a headstock break on the back of the guitar which has been suffered at some stage in its life, but this has been professionally repaired and filled in to keep it strong.

Condition wise - It's played. There are numerous dings and signs of wear on the body and the frets have been played and are now fairly flat. It is still playable for the majority of all things considered; however, there is a noticeable buzz on the frets at the 6th and 7th on the D string which we believe is coming from the play that the frets have seen. It is not overly obtrusive to the sound, but is there acoustically nonetheless and we feel it is worth mentioning.

We feel the bass has been priced fairly given that it's quite a rare piece and can safely be considered vintage.

It includes its original case which, much like the instrument it protects, has also seen a life. There are numerous marks and signs of wear, but this is still fully functional.

Gibson Guitars are known throughout the world for their high end guitars of which the most famous would be the ‘Les Paul’. Gibson guitars get better with age and it is these vintage and second hand guitars that we have here at Toneworld. These mature Gibson guitars are of excellent quality, great sounding and have much more playing life to offer.

We Welcome Part Exchange

We welcome part exchanges on items over £500. We realise that sometimes you need to “move something on” to get your new guitar. We give fair prices and once agreed we stick to them. The only thing we ask is that you accurately describe your guitar. We have plenty of happy customers from our part exchange scheme.

How it works – If you are local, you can simply call in. If you are not local we will assess your guitar and give you a valuation via phone/e-mail (we may ask for pictures). Once the price is agreed, we always stick to it, and your new guitar will be removed from the market so the deal can be concluded.

You can either send us your guitar, or we can use our courier to pick up for a small charge (UK only). Once the guitar is with us and any balance is paid we can dispatch your new guitar.
