This PRS Limited Edition 53/10 electric guitar come in a Fire Red Burst Nitro finish. Paul Reed Smith designed this run of 100 guitars to showcase the new 53/10 pickups which are also 'scorched' for this run, which gives the covers a blue/purple hue.

It should be noted that the very use of a Nitrocellulose Satin finish is in itself something very different for a coreline PRS which rarely comes up in a run. The majority of PRS guitars are finished in PRS' proprietary V12 finish with Nitro being reserved for Private Stock run guitars. The Nitro finish allows the body to 'breathe' and gives a truly impressive tone.

As guitarists will know, each one is different, and this particular guitar is especially resonant in the body, with gentle vibrations being apparent when it is being played, and is surprisingly lighter in weight than one expects.

This guitar is in excellent condition having come from a very good customer who looks after his guitars very well, but there are some very minor signs of play on the back of the body and some instances of surface scratching on top, although this is very hard to see. The nitrocellulose satin finish on the back of the neck has also worn to a gloss finish from the guitar being played, as well as some instances of oxidisation on the side dots of the fingerboard which have left a green hue on the dots in places.

It also includes the original Paisley PRS hardcase and hang tags.

PRS Guitars was founded by Paul Reed Smith in 1985, over 25 years later PRS is one of the leading and most respected guitar manufacturers in the world. Paul Reed Smith was inspired by the classic guitar designs of the 50’s and 60’s but, unlike many other manufactures, wanted to create a guitar that was his own design in every right. Today the classic double-cutaway PRS silhouette is as recognisable as some of the famous designs of the 50’s which is a true testament to Paul Reed Smiths design and vision. We have been selling PRS Guitars since the late 1980’s and have seen the company grow and develop but never forget their core values and dedication to quality and innovation. As PRS has grown they have maintained superior quality, something which they have become renowned for and have set the bar for other manufacturers. The PRS Custom 24 was one of Paul’s first designs and is the guitar that he took to his first trade show and is the model that really put PRS on the map. Nearly 25 years later the Custom 24 is still one of the most popular PRS models available. Over it’s long lifetime it has had many upgrades and changes to keep it at the forefront of the market. Paul Reed Smith is never complacent and is constantly trying new woods, components, construction methods and new technology. The Custom 24 is a different guitar to the model first introduced in the late 80’s but the core values and vision is still the same - create the best electric guitar possible. Today the PRS Product lineup is one of the most impressive in the market, there is a guitar for any genre, style and budget. One of the newest additions to the PRS family is the PRS Studio model. This is a model based loosely around the now discontinued Custom 22 but features the unique Studio electronics and Pickups, a 57/08 Pickup in the bridge and two Narrowfield mini humbuckers in the middle and neck. This is another example of PRS pushing the boundaries and trying new things. At Sound Affects we love PRS Guitars and are very passionate about their fabulous instruments.

We Welcome Part Exchange

We welcome part exchanges on items over £500. We realise that sometimes you need to “move something on” to get your new guitar. We give fair prices and once agreed we stick to them. The only thing we ask is that you accurately describe your guitar. We have plenty of happy customers from our part exchange scheme.

How it works – If you are local, you can simply call in. If you are not local we will assess your guitar and give you a valuation via phone/e-mail (we may ask for pictures). Once the price is agreed, we always stick to it, and your new guitar will be removed from the market so the deal can be concluded.

You can either send us your guitar, or we can use our courier to pick up for a small charge (UK only). Once the guitar is with us and any balance is paid we can dispatch your new guitar.
