Originally sold by us on a limited edition run produced exclusively for us by PRS, this is one of our 'Rainbow Run' Limited Edition Wood Library models which has found its way back to our store in a recent part-exchange. Our Rainbow Run of guitars was a limited edition series of Wood Library Custom 24s which was limited to 10 pieces and consisted of Custom 24 models that combined two PRS colours in to a 'colour fade' in the body. Five colour combinations were produced with a maple neck or rosewood neck version being available for each colour.

Further features included covered 58/15 pickups with McCarty Switching (3-way toggle + Coil Split) and a brown Paisley Hardcase and certificate of authenticity.

This model is Matteo Verde - A combination of Blue Matteo and Eriza Verde - and has a figured flame maple neck. It is in very good condition, with no marks or dings to note, but some signs of wear is present on the hardware. Its original case and certificate is included.

We are pleased to announce a very special run of Wood Library guitars designed by Sound Affects in collaboration with PRS Guitars. We had the opportunity to custom order a run of 10 Guitars through the PRS Wood Library program, this gave us access to special woods and finishes not available outside of the Private Stock program. Rather than simply tweaking a finish or adding some nicer birds we decided to do something special and created a 'Rainbow' Run of guitars featuring some custom colour combinations and some of our favourite PRS Bursts.

Update : We have just agreed with PRS to add the rare new 58/15 Pickups, these special pickups have excellent clarity and midrange and are only usually available on limited edition models. We have also added McCarty switching - something not usually available on Custom 24 models.

We also specifically requested highly figured Wide flame maple tops to really show off the colours!

PRS Guitars was founded by Paul Reed Smith in 1985, over 25 years later PRS is one of the leading and most respected guitar manufacturers in the world. Paul Reed Smith was inspired by the classic guitar designs of the 50’s and 60’s but, unlike many other manufactures, wanted to create a guitar that was his own design in every right. Today the classic double-cutaway PRS silhouette is as recognisable as some of the famous designs of the 50’s which is a true testament to Paul Reed Smiths design and vision. We have been selling PRS Guitars since the late 1980’s and have seen the company grow and develop but never forget their core values and dedication to quality and innovation. As PRS has grown they have maintained superior quality, something which they have become renowned for and have set the bar for other manufacturers. The PRS Custom 24 was one of Paul’s first designs and is the guitar that he took to his first trade show and is the model that really put PRS on the map. Nearly 25 years later the Custom 24 is still one of the most popular PRS models available. Over it’s long lifetime it has had many upgrades and changes to keep it at the forefront of the market. Paul Reed Smith is never complacent and is constantly trying new woods, components, construction methods and new technology. The Custom 24 is a different guitar to the model first introduced in the late 80’s but the core values and vision is still the same - create the best electric guitar possible. Today the PRS Product lineup is one of the most impressive in the market, there is a guitar for any genre, style and budget. One of the newest additions to the PRS family is the PRS Studio model. This is a model based loosely around the now discontinued Custom 22 but features the unique Studio electronics and Pickups, a 57/08 Pickup in the bridge and two Narrowfield mini humbuckers in the middle and neck. This is another example of PRS pushing the boundaries and trying new things. At Sound Affects we love PRS Guitars and are very passionate about their fabulous instruments.

We Welcome Part Exchange

We welcome part exchanges on items over £500. We realise that sometimes you need to “move something on” to get your new guitar. We give fair prices and once agreed we stick to them. The only thing we ask is that you accurately describe your guitar. We have plenty of happy customers from our part exchange scheme.

How it works – If you are local, you can simply call in. If you are not local we will assess your guitar and give you a valuation via phone/e-mail (we may ask for pictures). Once the price is agreed, we always stick to it, and your new guitar will be removed from the market so the deal can be concluded.

You can either send us your guitar, or we can use our courier to pick up for a small charge (UK only). Once the guitar is with us and any balance is paid we can dispatch your new guitar.
