In 1982, Fender began production of its Japanese-built Squier line in an attempt to compete with unlicensed, cheaper copies of their American instruments that were circling the market. These guitars featured genuine American components and excellent build quality.  The early days of Squier by Fender generated some exceptional instruments, but as it expanded and began to manufacture in other countries, Squier began to focus more on entry-level, budget-friendly designs for the discerning newbie player.

These early Squier Stratocasters are highly sought after by collectors, recognizable for their JVXXXXXX Serial codes, and we have a 1983 model here in stock at Sound Affects Premier, and this one lives up to its reputation.

A highly playable rosewood neck, Fender hardware, American pickups, Vintage-style button tuners; this guitar packs huge fender punch under the Squier Moniker.

Here's a good chance to bag a rarity!

Condition Notes: In good condition, but given its 35 year age, the guitar does have some signs of play and marks on the back of the body in the form of surface scratching and indentations. Whilst there are numerous marks on the mark, they are not particularly deep. There are also a few very small instances of grazing on the back of the neck, but this is very difficult to feel and does not affect the playability.

The frets are in excellent condition and the guitar plays nicely, with a low and straight action.

The electronics are fully working with no crackling and we just love the tone of the guitar when it's plugged in!

Comes with generic gig bag.

Please note that the back plate for the guitar is absent.

We Welcome Part Exchange

We welcome part exchanges on items over £500. We realise that sometimes you need to “move something on” to get your new guitar. We give fair prices and once agreed we stick to them. The only thing we ask is that you accurately describe your guitar. We have plenty of happy customers from our part exchange scheme.

How it works – If you are local, you can simply call in. If you are not local we will assess your guitar and give you a valuation via phone/e-mail (we may ask for pictures). Once the price is agreed, we always stick to it, and your new guitar will be removed from the market so the deal can be concluded.

You can either send us your guitar, or we can use our courier to pick up for a small charge (UK only). Once the guitar is with us and any balance is paid we can dispatch your new guitar.
